Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a suitcase robbery where a believed to be irritant spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.
These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A toddler was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
The incident – described by police as was not part of a series and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
