On Monday, the court learned communication data and data retrieved from phones documented Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - when she was three years old during a family holiday in Portugal - is one of the most covered investigations and is still unresolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

One recorded message, played in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I believe what I believe."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's voicemail expressed: "What if there is a slight possibility that I am she? What then? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I don't want money, I have a life here in Poland, I just want to discover," the recording stated.

The jury was told that through electronic messages, text messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a biological test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a attempt to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and claimed to have "memories" from a childhood with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with law enforcement who compiled the information, told the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the phone records.

On October 9th, 2024, Mr McCann answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "a wrong number."

During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my point."

The court learned the co-defendant developed a connection via internet with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' home in that area in December 2024.

Communication data demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted via WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to express the news outlets had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she deserved to be considered genuine in the period before the visit to Rothley, that area, in last December.

The court learned communications between the two accused, in that autumn, considering trying to acquire Mrs McCann's genetic material from her garbage or from cutlery at a eating establishment.

"We need to assert ourselves," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the trip to their home, Mrs Spragg transmitted a text which said: "We find ourselves sat near the McCanns' residence with our vehicle dark resembling investigators. I desired to accomplish this with another person I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial continues.
