President Trump Calls Loved Ones of Injured Military Members to the White House

President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the White House.

He added that he contacted her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Incident

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in serious condition.

Gatherings across the state have been held in their remembrance.

Presidential Invitation

The president stated he’s talked about a White House visit for the loved ones of both members of the state Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” Trump informed reporters. “And likewise with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Reaction

Community members assembled over the weekend at the high school in the state to remember Beckstrom.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to support policing efforts in the capital.

Honoring Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the individual that teachers wished for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged those around her,” the principal, the head of her alma mater, stated to the press. “She was sweet, considerate and always ready to support those in need.”

Memorial plans for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Measures and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The incident led the administration to halt asylum applications and halt granting visas to holders of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader the governor stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Pam Bondi told a news show that she aimed to speak to his relatives.

Impact of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a MP with honor, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had bravery,” he told the gathering at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
