Former Treasury Secretary Summers Resigns from AI Company's Directors
One-time economic leader the Harvard professor is leaving the governing body at the artificial intelligence firm, just several days after a batch of digital correspondence between him and deceased financier the disgraced billionaire became public.
He commented in an announcement that he was "appreciative for the chance to have contributed, excited about the promise of the company, and eagerly await observing their development".
The prominent academic, who formerly presided over the Ivy League institution, declared on recently that he would be scaling back from public commitments due to his association with the convicted sex offender.

The newly public messages revealed that Summers communicated with Epstein until the 24 hours preceding his 2019 detention for alleged sex trafficking of young people.
In additional comments, the artificial intelligence company said it accepted his determination to depart.

This announcement comes after the two houses of Congress decided on this week to approve a legislation that would mandate the US justice department to release its records on Epstein.

A collection of Epstein-related correspondence disclosed by the legislative panel recently referenced several well-known personalities in the Epstein's past associates, without suggesting any legal wrongdoing by those people.

Following Summers' declaration on Monday, the Washington think tank, a left-leaning research organization in the capital where he was a senior fellow, announced that the economist was ceased to be associated with the institution.
