The loved ones of teens lost after a deadly fire at a establishment in a Swiss winter destination are confronting an agonising wait for confirmed information and appealing for any details about their children online.

The blaze engulfed the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Verified footage show the roof structure catching alight as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Officials have stated that it could take an extended period to formally name the those who perished of the fire, which resulted in the death of 40 people and injured another over a hundred.
